Center of gravity

I have been warned. I didn't believe it. Until it happened to me. Yesterday.

I was walking down the sidewalk in a very hipster neighborhood having just bought a birthday present for DH. My stupid Da.nsko clog, which I have no business even wearing whilst pregnant, caught a little piece of uneven sidewalk.... And down I went.

I fell over. Just like that. On the sidewalk. Mostly on my knee and hand. Some dude from about 20 feet away yells, "you ok?" I nod. My instinct was to get up as fast as I could and run away - not even looking around to see who witnessed the incident. Then I realized I couldn't do anything very fast - let alone get up. So I hiked up my pant leg and inspected my bloody knee. I felt a little shook. I got over my embarrassment and just hung out sitting on the sidewalk in a daze.

Finally a bearded hipster (as so many of them are these days in philly) passed right by me and offered help. I let him use all his scrawny hipster strength to hoist my 155 pound body off the gravel.

Here is evidence of my clumsiness. And, yes. Those are ducky pajama bottoms that I still have on at 11 am. I am in the midst of a batch of lemon tea cookies. Showering will have to wait.

I find it so ADoRaBlE that you are trying to be like me in the falling down category. <3 you too.

So glad you clarified the PJ's, cuz I was about to email you and tell you I could see your underwear...

Owie! Poor thing! Glad that you and roomie are going to be a-ok. I LOVE the jammie pants! :)

A million thanks for your insight on the whole OB debacle. You're always so thoughtful with your comments. I appreciate the experience you share!

Oh poor girl! I feel down the stair when I was about 15w at work. It sucked! I felt like a total ass but hurt everywhere...although that took a back seat to my pride. Glad you're okay - and that knee heals quickly! Cute PJs.

Yum lemon tea cookies!!! Are you busy nesting in between your falls? It sure sounds like it, :-) Ouch, that looks like it hurt. I'm sorry :-( But I do love your PJ bottoms. And feel free to rock out in your cute PJ bottoms as late in the day as you want. You deserve to wear whatever you darn well please! I made some pumpkin pecan frosted cookies today and some raspberry white chocolate coconut bars. I'm doing some postpartum nesting. Oh well, better late than never, right? How are you feeling? Other than the fall I mean. Good I hope...thinking of you often even if I've been a crappy email buddy over the last week! ((hugs))

Damn woman! That looks painful! & I can only imagine the hipster reactions- or lack thereof... heh- hipsters have taken over our little corner of the world.

I also love the jammies- but I just have to know that they were not what you were wearing on your trek out. I see far too much of that up here in the ne- don't tell me they got to you too!

Sorry you fell down... :( And the PJ's... yeah, if I don't have anywhere to go during the day I totally spend the ENTIRE day in my PJ's.

Poor baby, that is a nasty scrape. Clogs should come w/a warning label, croc.s too. Gosh, thinking about Philly has me craving a Butterscot.ch Krimpet and Cheese Steak!
