Outcomes for preemies

I am always scanning for stats on outcomes for preemies. They are actually hard to find in a digestible form - not a wordy medical study. I think this chart is pretty helpful for those of you who may be facing premature birth. Or perhaps I just like it because it concludes that the roomie would have a solid shot at his current gestation...

Anyhow.

I know. I am a little post-happy lately.
What can I do.

Roomie is still head up and beating the hell out of my cervix. I swear sometimes it feels like he is punching his way out. Is there a danger in this when you have virtually no cervical length and are 1 cm dilated? I tried this morning a few suggested methods to flip the bugger. Lay on an incline, have dh talk to him down low, flashlight. It was pretty silly. And of course, did not work... I know he has time to flip, but I really want him away from my cervix. I have enough trouble down there without his help...

Hey- sounds good to me! Although I hope he behaves himself for a few more weeks at least! He needs a little more cooking before he kung-fu's his way out! I hope he turns around for you soon!

Thanks for posting this! Even at 27w it helped me to feel much better if this little dude is to come sooner rather than later!

That's a really good chart. I hope you have no need for such info though.

Gosh, do I know how you feel! I guess at this point in this journey (hellish ride), I should feel grateful that I've made it to term, but sure don't want a c-section. I'm trying to get my baby to turn from transverse.

Thanks for sharing that chart! It's a goldmine of info!

It's funny what you said weeks ago when you said that it seems like the Roomie always seems to be trying to find his way out while our little girl gets ticked off when we bother her and just wants to be left alone. So it definitely seems like the Roomie keeps trying, huh? I hope he stops the cervix kicking soon - nothing like giving you one more thing to worry about - that's not what I want for you :-) Thanks so much for posting this - what great info. I hope both of us never have to glance at anything like it though. Thinking of you all the time....

You and roomie are in a great place! Keep up the great work. I also looked at those charts till I had it memorized and my eyes fell out... and am so glad that you are now at the point where it brings you more reassurance than stress.

(My DS also kicked my cervix a lot -then he turned transverse... and then finally head down... always something. My Peri did A LOT of sighing and head shaking when doing my ultrasounds... but we got through it - and I know you will too!)

Hey M. Just stopping over to check-up on you and roomie. Hope all is well in bedrest-ville!

You mentioned using a flashlight to get the little guy to turn, but have you tried an airhorn? I know I'd move if someone blared one of those near my head. (Ok, so I'm only kidding.)

Hang in there girl. You're doing awesome. *hugs*
